Commercial window cleaning in Laredo: storefronts, offices, and how often

Storefront and office glass is cleaned on a schedule set by traffic and visibility. Height and access decide how the job is done and what paperwork the building owner needs.

How often should commercial windows be cleaned?

There's no single rule. Entry doors and storefront glass pick up handprints and dust daily, while upper-floor glass changes slowly. Many businesses add door glass to the regular janitorial list and book exterior windows separately on a recurring schedule.

Ask the provider what interval they'd suggest after seeing the building, and whether interior glass, frames, and tracks are included or extra.

What changes the price of a commercial window job?

The number of panes, whether it's inside, outside, or both, and how high the glass goes. Hard-to-reach glass, skylights, heavy buildup, and after-hours scheduling all add time.

A one-story storefront that a crew can reach from the sidewalk is a different job from a multi-story office that needs lifts or rope access. Have a rough pane count ready when you call. More on pricing in the cleaning cost guide.

Who is responsible for roof anchors when windows are cleaned from ropes?

The building owner. Under OSHA's rule for rope descent systems, the owner must tell the cleaning company in writing that every anchor has been identified, tested, certified, and maintained to hold at least 5,000 pounds per attached worker. The company can't use the anchors until it has that in writing.

Before a crew goes over the edge

  • Anchors are inspected every year and certified at least every 10 years.
  • Rope descent systems aren't used above 300 feet, with limited exceptions.
  • Work stops in storms or gusty or excessive wind.

If you manage a building with roof anchors, find the most recent inspection and certification paperwork before you schedule the job. The full text is in 29 CFR 1910.27.

When should exterior glass be cleaned in a Laredo summer?

Ask the provider. Average highs in Laredo are 99.9°F in July and 100.9°F in August, so it's reasonable to ask whether exterior work is scheduled for the cooler part of the day.

Those figures are NOAA's 1991–2020 climate normals for the Laredo station.

Is window washing taxed in Texas?

Yes. The Texas Comptroller lists washing windows among the taxable cleaning services. In Laredo the combined sales tax rate is 8.25% as of 2026.

What to ask before a window job

  1. Inside, outside, or both? Are frames, sills, and tracks included?
  2. How will upper floors be reached: ladder, lift, or rope access?
  3. For rope work: what paperwork do you need from us about the roof anchors?
  4. What time of day will exterior work happen?
  5. Can door glass be added to the nightly cleaning instead?
